IGNOU Entrance Test

Indira Gandhi National Open University or IGNOU entrance tests are held to offer admissions to most eligible candidates. Most of the degree, diploma and certificates courses offered by this central university are recognized by the All India Council Technical Education (AICTE) or Association of the Indian Universities (AIU). Whether students want to pursue their studies in B.Ed, B.Sc or MBA, appearing in the respective entrance examination is a must.

IGNOU conducts an all-India level entrance examination - OPENMAT every year under its School of Management Studies (SOMS). Through this test, candidates can seek admission to a number of distance education management programs including:
  1. Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM)
  2. Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM)
  3. Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM)
  4. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM)
  5. Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM)
  6. MBA



Eligibility for OPENMAT:



In order to appear in this test, candidates need to fulfill any one of the pre-defined eligibility criteria. These are:
  1. Bachelor’s degree from any recognized institution with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category)
  2. Graduation degree along with minimum 3 years of working experience
  3. Professional degree in any of the fields – Engineering, Technology, Law, Medicine, Architecture or Pharmacy
  4. Master’s degree from any of the recognized college/ university
  5. Cost and Works Accountancy / Accountancy / Company Secretary Ship qualification
  6. 10+2 or equivalent education with 6 years of supervisory/ managerial/ professional experience (for students who want to do Diploma in Management)
