Tips for OPENMAT

Candidates can crack this test easily by following some simple methods. For general awareness section, constant upgradation of knowledge is important. Students should read newspapers, latest books or magazines on daily basis. English language section can test candidates’ knowledge of synonyms, anonyms, grammar and corresponding meaning of words. For this, candidates should read poems and passages as much as possible. Practicing arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics is necessary for quantitative aptitude section. Reasoning section will be easy for those who can solve questions pertaining to coding & decoding, strong & weak arguments and data interpretation, etc.

Application Procedure for OPENMAT: Student Handbook & Prospectus for Management Program will be available at the Regional Centre (RC) or Learner Support Centers (LSC) located across different parts of India. The application should be accompanied with a DD/ IPO of Rs.550, drawn in favor of IGNOU payable at Madurai. The kit can also be obtained in person on cash payment of Rs.500 at RC/LSC sale counters. Once the form is completed, it should be dispatched to the Registrar (SED), Block 12, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi – 110068, through speed/ registered post. Interested candidates can download the application form along with prospectus from the official website (www.ignou.ac.in).
